Sam Lund has helped many people as a full-time interior designer and professional organizer. Sam is originally from Chicago, and came to Utah in 2010 for college. Sam uses her skills learned from obtaining her degrees in psychology, human development, and family studies from the University of Utah to understand what her client’s truly need in their home. Sam brings empathy and emotional support to every client relationship. The joy you feel when you first see your newly organized space or luxurious living room inspires her to continue transforming lives.
Sam’s husband and business partner, Colby Lund, is a licensed general contractor and enjoys expressing his creativity through carpentry. Originally from North Dakota, he grew up in the construction industry. He’s enjoyed learning from his Dad who runs a truss company and his uncle who builds major sports arenas. Colby came to Utah to attend college and graduated from the University of Utah with two degrees: psychology and economics. Everyone who meets Colby loves him and doesn’t want to let him go, similar to how Sam felt when they met. Colby enjoys all of the clients he gets to connect with on the job while creating their new home. When he isn’t on a job site or listening to Sam talk about work, he’s enjoying time mountain biking, fishing, or at home with their two dogs: Roo and Charlie.

Born and bred in Los Angeles, raised my family in Chicago. I’ve done everything from being a modeling agent, to being a flight attendant, to being a jewelry designer. I’ve always loved designing, and spent my life designing our family homes and helping friends with their spaces.
In 2020, my daughter and I got the client of a lifetime in Arizona and we worked on the project together. After that, we decided it was best for me to make the move to Utah, after being in Chicago for 30 years, and help my daughter and my son in law run the business. It’s so fun working with my daughter and bringing our creative visions to life!
Since then, we have completed multiple projects and grown a ton. In my spare time you can find me doing yoga, traveling, and spending time with my family.
New to the design and construction world, I spent the last 6 years working as an EA at Nike, inc. in Oregon. I recently moved back to Utah and decided to make a leap into a new industry! At Simply Sam I ensure processes, culture, and operations run smoothly; supporting logistics with clients, vendors, employees, office management, and most importantly Sam! In my free time, you can find me adventuring with my fam or binge-watching Bravo. Balance.
Hi!! I create all the construction documents that are submitted to the city for permits. I also design renderings for clients so they have the ability to view their spaces virtually, prior to construction. Selecting stylistic furnishings and materials for clients and running the Simply Sam blog is a passion of mine. In my free time, I am a travel + fitness enthusiast who enjoys paddle boarding with my Aussie.
I have worked for Simply Sam for almost 4 years now. I was Sam’s first employee and have loved learning and growing with the company! I direct the organizing team on all our projects. I take pride in my work and use my attention to detail to implement quality control and time management on jobs. I am passionate about making our clients happy and making their homes more stress-free. Outside of work, I love being outdoors and spending time with my husband and 2 teenage daughters!
I am the newest addition to the Simply Sam team! I'm in charge of organizing all things financial. From receipts to bank accounts to billing clients, it is all a part of my day to day. I am originally from Southern California. You can catch me outside of work at the gym or playing in the sun.
I am originally from England. Lover of cats and sweet treats! I'm in charge of all things regarding products and keeping our warehouse and van up to Simply Sam standards! I also shop for clients' projects, prep for jobs, and make sure we have a solid count for all the products we use!
I’ve been with Simply Sam for 3 years now. I do the behind-the-scenes admin work for organizing jobs, like making sure we have our trash removal scheduled. I also make sure everyone's seeing and accepting jobs on the Google Calendar, and schedule lunches for the team on jobs (it's a really awesome perk Sam provides!). I do payroll time corrections and handle requested time off for the team and I also help with the interviews/hiring process with the Director of Organizing, Teriann. I love what I do and it's exciting that every day I get to do something different.
Originally a carpenter by trade, I now have over half a decade of high-end residential remodeling experience. I’m one of the main liaisons for our variety of professional subcontractors, handling anything from bids to quality assurance, as well as personally addressing anything that falls on the gray area labor side of the remodeling process. When I'm not making your home a more beautiful place to live, you can find me fly fishing or absorbed in a good book!
I lived in Oahu for 4 years and consider it a second home since I have family there also. For the majority of my life, I worked as a nanny because I love kids, cooking, cleaning, and maintaining a home. That quickly translated into my love for organizing and design which I am now going to school for. Seeing our clients happy and excited when we finish the job is my favorite part of working for Simply Sam! It feels so rewarding to offer organizing solutions that will make their lives easier! I also love seeing the spaces that we design become completely transformed into something beautiful, polished, and well-thought-out. I love that Simply Sam offers solutions for anything design and organizing-related since those have always been top priorities for my own home. It also really helps that the whole team uplifts and supports each other and you can tell we love what we do! I’m expecting my first born (baby boy) end of March and couldn’t be more excited for this next stage of my life!
I lived in North Pole, Alaska for the last 4 years. I have a strong love for Alaska and the simplicity of life there. I enjoy doing just about anything outdoors (even snow machining in 30-below weather!). My favorite home decor item is pillows! A few good pillows can add so much color and texture to a space and they are easy to change out as your design style changes! My favorite organizing item is a tea organizer. I am currently on a big tea kick so this has made me very happy to have them organized and displayed beautifully! Working with this amazing team of talented people is one of my favorite things about working for Simply Sam! Everyone is so positive, motivated, and inspirational. I love seeing how everyone’s hard work ends up giving our clients a beautiful, styled, organized space!
I love organizing!! The satisfaction at the end of the day when a project is finished and everything has a home and is organized. The label maker is my favorite tool of the trade. It’s the final step in the organization process. It gives the space a finished look and everyone can easily see where things are. Fun fact: I used to play the harp when I was younger. Both my older sisters play the harp as well. Growing up at home it was nice hearing harp music playing when we would practice.
My favorite thing about working at Simply Sam is organizing, but also working with everyone on this team! Everyone is so hard-working and dedicated to making every space we touch 10000% better than when we arrived. I love how positive and supportive we are of each other, which makes for such a happy and empowering work environment. Lighting is probably my favorite home decor item. It's such an important element in setting the mood in any space. And of course, the label maker is the most satisfying final touch for any organized space. A bit about me: I’m an artist! I draw, paint, sculpt, etc. Within the last year, pottery has become a major part of my life. It’s my therapy and happy place.
I love the organizing aspect of Simply Sam. Every job we are working on is so different, and a challenge but in a puzzle kind of way. When you finally finish and see it complete you just get to stand back and look in awe! My favorite organizing product is the multipurpose bins from the Container Store. They are such an easy way to organize most spaces and such an inexpensive product, plus look great! It’s also a good starting product to get an organizing project going. I would really like to visit all 50 states before I turn 40. I have about 17 states to go and only 6 years left!
When I'm working: Everything about this job and team is incredible! I think the most rewarding part is knowing that we get to change people's lives and give them peace of mind. It’s really fulfilling knowing that you get to help make other people’s lives easier and better! Plus, I am a sucker for good lighting. It’s such an easy way to create drama or completely change the aesthetic of a room. As for an organizing favorite, I love a good bin or basket to keep things tidy and looking streamlined.
When I'm not working: I love to do art in my free time! I have illustrated a cover for a book and have had a chalk art piece I completed posted by Disneyland. I am pretty good at blowing bubble gum bubbles. I can blow bubbles slightly larger than the size of my head (it’s a real nightmare when they pop).
