Job Description

We are looking for an in house accounting clerk to manage or financials.

This job can either be part-time or full-time to start. A cover letter with a resume and references is required for review. Ideally this is someone who is located in Salt Lake City, with the ability to work mostly remote, but able to come in the office for meetings, filing, team building, etc. We may conduct background checks.

This job will start at between $25-$35/ hour DOE. We offer benefits such as PTO, paid holidays, and insurance


  • Follow and maintain specific workflows for software and clients business practices
  • Maintain digital files on our portal's internal and client-related
  • Participate in Zoom meetings and/or calls with clients to review financial reporting, and other client meetings
  • As we are a small business, flexibility to respond to a wide variety of tasks.
  • Effective time management, prioritizing, and forward planning skills.

Bookkeeping and Finance:

  • Work closely with our design and construction team to produce quality work and customer service
  • Help Implement, manage, and maintain system and processes for client transaction reconciliation in order to produce accurate and timely invoices
  • Code and key accounts payable for, and process timely payments by check, online and credit card.
  • Key and verify invoices using appropriate information and coding by division and cost code.
  • Verify balance statements from vendors.
  • Investigate all discrepancies with invoice totals and work with the company to clean up accounts.
  • Customer invoicing
  • Manage receipt tracking system, and monthly expense reports for all purchases
  • Able to prepare, review and understand a financial statement.
  • Reconcile checking and credit card statements
  • Track employee purchases – ensure appropriate use of company credit cards.
  • Work with ownership to ensure all expenses are tracked and costs reduced
  • Prepare weekly financial reports and correspondence for internal or external review
  • Identify opportunities for increased efficiency, enter data for divisional budget and expenses for reporting to ownership.
  • File and sort documents (paper and electronically, creating consolidated reports when necessary).
  • Various accounting, journal entries, and inventory adjustments.
  • Update and maintain all bookkeeping for clients
  • Work with accounting firm to solve problems and insure accuracy and effciency of the books

Payables/ Receivables:

  • Manage Client and Vendor Receivables communication
  • Manage Vendors payables in


  • Monthly bank / credit card reconciliation and analysis of accounts and variances.
  • Deposit checks as posted to A/R.
  • Complete physical bank deposits as required


  • Responsible to ensure accurate timecards, and correct or address any payroll changes on bi-weekly basis.
  • Create paychecks, email paystubs, input on-line banking and advise when submitted for approval.
  • Monitor payroll on a bi-weekly basis for any payroll deductions etc.
  • Prepare yearly 1099’s for all contractors

Job Requirements

- Bookkeeping background and basic accounting - Degree in Accounting or Business preferred

  • Experienced in managing bookkeeping for small businesses

- Interior Design and / or Construction industry knowledge, prior work highly recommended - Degree in Interior Design or General Contracting with Bookkeeping experience is great!

  • Excel & QuickBooks fluency
  • Excellent communications skills. Ability to represent the company in a professional, positive manner to clients and co-workers
  • Detail-oriented and thorough with excellent follow-through
  • Efficient, adept at time management and prioritization of tasks
  • Project Management including Purchase Tracking, Time Billing, and client Invoicing (depending on the client)
  • Strong work ethic
  • Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently
  • Quarterly cash flow analysis understanding

Software Knowledge

  • We work with Houzz Pro, IVY, Google Suite, and QBO. Please only apply if you are proficient in at minimum one Software.
  • Understanding of Project management software and task management
